フェスティバル the Mid-Autumn Festival party の食品サンプルのうち 3/12 food samples から，基準値を超える病原体 Enterobacteriaceae bacteria, yeast, and mold が検出され食中毒の原因になったと考えられると，地域保健当局 Ha Giang Department of Health が明らかにした。
具体的には，卵焼き the fried egg sample から Enterobacteriaceae bacteria が，韓国もち the Korean Jin Tu rice cake sample から真菌 yeast and mold が検出された。レモンティーからは Coliforms bacteria, yeast, and mold が検出されている。

アウトブレイクの中 part of a larger outbreak at the business で，サルモネラ感染症 salmonellosis に感染した男性1名とレストラン a Valencia restaurant との関連性が認められた。24日までに Madre Oaxacan Restaurant & Mezcaleria に関係する31例の感染が確認されている。このうちの1人で，15日に同店で鶏料理 a chicken enchilada meal を摂取後に発症した男性1名が，訴えを起こした。
レストランの製氷機内の氷と調理用のまな板に真菌が付着していた。

Minnesota reports rare human death from rabies
7月にコウモリと接触のあったミネソタ州の住民 A Minnesota resident が狂犬病 rabies 感染により死亡したと，27日に保健当局 the state's department of health が発表した。
the CDC によると全米で狂犬病による死亡は10例未満で，今回の死亡はまれな出来事だった。年齢は65歳以上で，western Minnesota in July においてコウモリとの接触があったと，州保健当局 the Minnesota Department of Health が説明した。
米国内の狂犬病関連のヒトの死亡例は，1900年代初期の年間100例以上から，近年は5例未満に減少し，約70%がコウモリへの曝露によるものとなっている。

Pigs may be transmission route of rat hepatitis E to humans
最近ヒトの感染が知られるようになった，ラットに多く見られる E型肝炎ウイルス a strain of the hepatitis E virus (HEV) の感染伝播に，ブタが関わっている可能性があることが新たな研究で示唆された。The _Rocahepevirus ratti_ strain は，主な保有宿主がラットであることから rat HEV（ラット E型肝炎ウイルス）と呼ばれている。
2018年に香港 Hong Kong の免疫不全の患者で，はじめてのヒトの感染例が報告された以降，免疫に問題のない患者も含めて少なくとも20例以上が報告されている。rat HEV の感染例にラットへの曝露は報告されておらず，感染の原因が解明されていなかった。
他の E型肝炎ウイルスとして生の豚肉の摂取があり，a potential route for rat HEV においても（ブタが感染源である）可能性が考えられている。
オハイオ州立大学 The Ohio State University の研究者らが，ヒトから分離されたウイルス a strain of rat HEV isolated from humans をブタに感染させることに成功し，農場のような環境内において他のブタに感染伝播することが確かめられた。ラットはブタ小屋に多く寄生している。

Situation at a glance

Description of the situation
患者はブルキナファソとの国境地域 the Upper East region, which is located on the border with Burkina Faso 在住の5歳未満の乳幼児で，2024年5月5日に咽頭痛と咳の症状を発症した。同7日に現地病院を受診し，インフルエンザ様疾患と診断され，解熱剤，抗ヒスタミン薬，抗生物質が処方された。同日採取された気道サンプルで，季節性インフルエンザウイルスが陽性 positive for seasonal influenza A(H3N2) virus であることが，15日の検査 polymerase chain reaction (PCR) on 15 May at the Ghana National Influenza Centre (NIC), Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research で確認された。
