台南保健当局 Tai-nan health authorities が、2024年3例目の日本脳炎 the 3rd Japanese encephalitis case in the city this year [2024] を発表し、この数ヶ月間、自宅から離れた場所に移動したことはなかったと述べられている。9月24日に発症し、10月1日に意識障害のため入院となった。この男性は毎日、自宅と仕事場 home in the Xin-ying District and workplace in Yan-shui で過ごしていた。職場から2kmの範囲内に豚小屋 a pigsty があった。

Cutbona and Mobor jetties のコレラアウトブレイク the cholera outbreak による死者が6名となった。10月1日に入院した29歳の移民労働者 a migrant worker from Cutbona はその日のうちに死亡した。この死亡以前に、the outbreak at Cutbona and Mobor jetties had already claimed the lives of 5 migrant workers が報告されている。
この3日間は新たな感染例は報告されていないが、10月7日までに合計228 cases involving trawler workers at Cutbona and Mobor jetties が確認されている。

Summary of the situation in the Americas Region
南北アメリカ the Americas Region において、2024年上半期のデング熱は過去最多の As of epidemiological week (EW) 36 of 2024, 47 countries and territories in the Americas Region have reported 1173万2921 dengue cases を記録した; これは2023年の1年間に記録した患者数 459万4823 dengue cases の2.5倍にあたる。
検査で確定診断された laboratory confirmed 症例数は Between EW 1 and EW 36 of 2024, of the total reported dengue cases, 625万3754 (53%) で、このうち1万7610 例が重症severe dengue (0.15%) and 6650例が死亡 fatal cases (致死率 case fatality rate of 0.057%) だった。

Additionally, Argentina, French Guiana, Peru, and Puerto Rico reported simultaneous circulation of DENV-1, DENV-2, and DENV-3 (1).

The bacterium causing zebra chip disease of potato, '_Candidatus_ Liberibacter solanacearum' (Solanaceae haplotypes are listed in the EPPO A1 List), is reported for the 1st time in Peru in Piura region [on potato crops - Mod.DHA].
_Bactericera cockerelli_ potato psyllid, the vector of zebra chip disease, was first reported in 2021 in the same region and is now reported from the potato production areas in the regions of Cajamarca, La Libertad, Piura, and Tumbes (all north-western Peru). An official monitoring programme is implemented to contain the psyllid and IPM is applied to reduce infestation levels.
