Situation at a glance
Between 1 January and 31 December 2024 の期間に、3 states in India (Gujarat, Karnataka, and Maharashtra states) において累計151例のジカウイルス Zika virus disease (ZVD) cases が報告されている。Maharashtra State が a cumulative total of 140 ZVD cases through the Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP) を報告した。さらに、Karnataka and Gujarat states が10 and 1 cases, respectively, in 2024 を報告した。As of 31 December 2024, no cases of microcephaly and/or Guillain-Barre syndrome (GBS、ギラン・バレー症候群) associated with this outbreak は報告されていない。
Description of the situation
Maharashtra State は a cumulative total of 140 ZVD cases through the Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP) を報告しており、このうち大部分 the majority (125 cases) が Pune district, 11 from Ahmednagar district, and 1 case from each of Kolhapur, Sangli and Solapur districts and Mumbai suburban area からの報告である。
Additionally, Karnataka state reported 10 cases in 2024, with 7 reported from Bengaluru urban district and 3 from Shivamogga district. Gujarat state reported 1 Zika case in Gandhinagar Corporation in 2024.
The number of ZVD cases reported in 2024 in Maharashtra state is the highest since 2021 compared with respectively 1, 3 and 18 ZIKV disease cases reported in 2021, 2022 and 2023. The number of cases reported in Karnataka state in 2024 is also the highest number reported since the first case reported in 2022.

ウガンダの首都 its capital, Kampala で新たなエボラアウトブレイク a new outbreak of the deadly Ebola virus が報告され、初めて報告された症例は29日に死亡した Mulago Referral Hospital 病院の看護師であると、30日 the health ministry's announcement で明らかにされた。
この看護師は発熱疾患のため複数の施設で治療を受けていたが、死後エボラウイルス病 Sudan Ebola Virus Disease と診断された。多臓器不全による死亡とされている。

Wyandotte County is currently facing the largest outbreak of tuberculosis in the United States, state officials say. The Kansas Department of Health and Environment reports 67 active infections of the contagious respiratory disease currently being treated and 79 latent infections being monitored, meaning patients are asymptomatic and cannot pass TB to others. Of the active infections, 60 were found in Wyandotte County and 7 were found in Johnson County, as of Friday [24 Jan 2025]. The data include those first identified before New Year, the KDHE said.

Kansas currently battling what state health officials have called the largest documented tuberculosis (TB) outbreak in US history. However, the CDC has refuted these claims, stating that the outbreak, while serious, does not surpass previous large-scale TB outbreaks in the country.
