_Candida auris_, or _C. auris_ は、特に医療現場において、侵襲的治療を行う気管内チューブ、栄養チューブ、注射器、カテーテルなどの医療器具を介して容易に感染が拡大するため、危険性が高まる。家庭内清掃用品や ammonia-based cleaning solutions などの従来の病院の消毒薬に抵抗性を示すため、現在同州内の病院では 真菌殺菌用に作られた US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) "List P" certified cleaners を使っている： The EPA は異なる疾患に対する洗浄液リスト a list of cleaning solutions for different diseases を作成している。
"真菌感染症でもっとも多くみられる_Candida albicans_と異なる点として、_Candida auris_ は侵襲性真菌 invasive fungus であり、よく使われる抗真菌薬 a lot of the common medicines, like Diflucan [fluconazole] の殺菌効果は認められず、さらに患者の10%では the second-line medicines, like Micafungin も効かない"。
この真菌はどんどん成長し、肺の特定部位を閉塞して二次性肺炎を引き起こし、死に至らしめる可能性がある。血液感染が起きると難治性となるが、公衆衛生上の脅威とはならないと説明されている。

2025年の国内の3例のニパウイルス the Nipah virus 感染例はすべて死亡したと、研究所 the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) が3日報告したが、詳細については明らかにされていない。
コウモリの唾液で汚染された生のナツメヤシの樹液（ジュース）the consumption of raw date palm sap contaminated by bat saliva のほか、現地で飲まれる発酵酒 locally fermented alcoholic beverages like tari も感染源となることがある。患者との濃厚接触により感染することもある。
（ウイルス曝露から）5－7日間後にニパウイルス感染症の症状が現れ、発熱、意識混濁、筋肉痛、嘔吐、咽頭痛、頭痛、不穏、めまいなどが認められる。重症例では脳炎や呼吸不全などを発症する。過去20年間の国内感染例の71% が死亡している。

Epidemiological comments: The Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste (Timor-Leste) is located in Southeast Asia and comprises the eastern half of the island of Timor, the nearby islands of Atauro and Jaco, and Ambeno/Oecusse, an enclave on the northwestern side of the island, within Indonesian West Timor. The area is 15 410 sq km, administratively divided in 13 municipalities, 65 administrative posts and 450 villages. The country has a total perimeter of 934 km (580.3 mi), a 228 km (141.6 mi) land border with Indonesia (Kupang-West Timor) and the rest of the country is seacoast. Timor-Leste's weather is tropical hot and dry/humid, with distinct seasons: rainy from December to June and dry from July to November. Rainfall is well distributed along the country. There [are] limited data available on wildlife and companion animals.
Evolution of the disease was followed in Oecusse Municipality. There were 22 cases of dog bites; 6 dogs died after biting people and tested positive using Rapid Bionote test. One person died in Oecusse municipality.
