24日に35歳の現地住民が不穏と高熱の症状を発症し死亡したバリ島 Indonesia's holiday hotspot Bali で、旅行者らに対して狂犬病 the risks of rabies after への注意が呼びかけられている。デンパサール the island capital of Denpasar から車で2時間の Sukasada で6か月前に野犬に襲われていた。この男性は傷を洗うだけで済ませていたが、22日に発症し、24日死亡した。
バリ島ではじめて狂犬病による死亡が報告されたのは2008年で、その後島内に常在することとなった。当初は駆除に頼っていたが効果がなく、その後野犬に対するワクチン接種に切り替えられた。2025年は、2月19日までに Denpasar の都市部の2266頭のイヌにワクチンが接種されたが、7万4千頭のイヌの91％への接種の目標に対して、3％未満である。2024年、7人の死亡 fatal rabies cases が報告され nearly 56 000 rabies bites が発生した。

スイスではとりわけ温暖な冬季となっており、平均より2℃高い日が多くなっていることで、ダニシーズンが前倒しになった。
すでに6例のダニ媒介性脳炎 cases of tick-borne encephalitis が公衆衛生当局 Switzerland's Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) から報告されている。この時期にこの数の感染が報告されたことは、この12年間なかった。
2023年と2024年は、1月に2例が報告されていたが、2025年は4例で、2月に入ってから9日間でさらに2例の報告があった。4月から8月までは最も感染する患者が多くなる。
ダニ媒介性脳炎に加え、ダニは関節や神経を冒すライム病ボレリア症 Lyme borreliosis も伝播し、the most common tick-borne disease である。
Lyme disease bacteria was discovered by Willy Burgdorfer in the US in 1980. The name Lyme comes from an eponymous US town in Connecticut which was a hotspot for the disease.
2025年1月、126 cases of Lyme disease were recorded, up from 90 in January 2024 が確認されている。

全国的にノロウイルス norovirus cases の増加が続いており、2014年に統計を取り始めて以来最多 laboratory reports となっていることが、衛生当局の最新データ The latest UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) data で示されている。
from 3 to 16 Feb 2025 の2週間に、その前の2週間より29.4% 多い感染 Laboratory confirmed cases が報告され、the 5-season average (168.0%) for the same 2-week period の2倍を超えていた。特に病院とケアホームへの影響が大きく、65歳以上の患者が最も多い。
The increased activity this season は、新興したウイルス株 the recently emerged GII.17 genotype が関係している。しかしながら the latest data では、別の型 a different, but commonly seen genotype (GII.4) の感染が増えていることが示されている。the emergence of GII.17 以前は、GII.4 が最も多いタイプ the genotype で毎冬増加していた。the GII.17 genotype が dominant, accounting for 59% of cases ではあるが、11月以降 76% から低下し、その間に the GII.4 strain が急増し、現在29% of cases compared to just 10% 3 months ago を占めている。このことは、one genotype に感染しても別の型への感染防御は完全ではないことから、今シーズンすでにノロウイルスに感染した患者も、ふたたび感染する可能性があることを意味する。
either GII.17 or GII.4 いずれも重症化は示唆されていない。

大阪公立大学の研究チーム An Osaka Metropolitan University-led Egypt-Japan research team が、エジプトで多く飲まれているミルクと乳製品の25%以上が大腸菌に汚染されている _E. coli_ prevalent と報告した。
the 210 samples（サンプル）of raw milk, cheese, and yoghurt のうち、26.2% が大腸菌検査で陽性 positive for _E. coli_ であり、最も高率 the highest だったのは生のバッファローミルク raw buffalo milk at 68%、低かったのは7.5% for rayeb, a type of fermented milk 発酵乳 だった。
研究者らは、エジプトで2018年に採取された検体から分離された大腸菌と、2021年の富山県の食中毒の原因となった大腸菌に、同じ特徴がみられたと報告している。当時、汚染されたミルクにより25校の1800人以上の小児が発症した。
