北東部 northeast Cambodia's Kratie province の3歳6か月の男児の鳥インフルエンザ H5N1 human avian influenza 感染が確認され、2025年に確認された症例はこれで3例目となると、23日に保健省が発表した。発熱、咳、呼吸困難の深刻な状態で病院に搬送された。
両親はニワトリを飼っており、約5羽が死に、ほかのニワトリも弱っていたため、死んだニワトリを調理して食べたと述べている。
2025年の3例のヒトの感染例 human cases of H5N1 のうち2例が死亡しており、いずれも死亡または弱っていた家きんとの接触歴 a history of recent exposure to sick or dead poultry が報告されている。
From 2003 to date, there were 75 cases of human infection with H5N1 influenza, including 45 deaths in the Southeast Asian country, according to the ministry.

'Moroccan measles variant' found in Brussels sewage water

Haiti reports new cholera cases nearly 15 years after deadly outbreak

Port-au-Prince の人口の多い貧困地域 Cité Soleil, a densely populated and impoverished commune でも、3週間に100例以上の疑い例が報告されており、治安の悪化などの条件下で気づかれないまま拡大しているおそれがある。
今回のコレラの再興 Haiti's latest cholera resurgence は、3年以上報告がなかった後の2022年10月の再興につづくもので、このときは 2 confirmed cases of _Vibrio cholerae_ O1 in the greater Port-au-Prince area が確認された。

敗血症治療と管理の改善を目的とする、全米の病院に義務化されたプロトコール a federally mandated hospital protocol の遵守に対し、疑問をなげかける新たな研究が発表された。
3月19日の JAMA Network Open 掲載のこの論文で、プロトコール the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Severe Sepsis and Septic Shock Management Bundle (SEP-1) に "準拠しない治療 noncompliant" が行われた敗血症患者は、compliant care を受けた患者に比べて、年齢は高く、持病があるものが多く、合併症が多い傾向がみられたと指摘されている。これらの要素を加味すると、SEP-1 compliance による死亡率減少は認められなくなる no longer associated with improved mortality とされている。
今回の研究は2月18日の the Annals of Internal Medicine に掲載された a systematic review and meta-analysis に続くもので、同論文でも no evidence that SEP-1 compliance was associated with improved mortality とされていた。
