北アイルランド Northern Ireland の 750カ所の農場は、50年前からポテト栽培に関する制約 restrictions を受けてきたが、今ようやく終わりを迎えた。 20世紀初めに potato wart disease が発生し、1959年以降 1例も報告さていなかったものの、その強毒性や 30年以上土壌中に残存することなどを理由に、これまで seed potatoes の衛生 kept clear of が義務づけられてきた。今回その制限が解除された
