リウマチ専門医 Rheumatologists が、日本で初めてのロスリバーウイルス感染例 the 1st confirmed case of Ross River virus を報告した。2013年1月から5月までの間、豪に滞在した 31歳女性が、2013年3月に突然の左足首と右膝の痛みを訴え病院を受診した。発熱や発疹はなかった。正式な診断名は告げられず、関節の痛みが続いたため、日本への帰国後、筆者のクリニックを受診した。血液検査で関節炎の所見は認められなかったが、ロスリバーウイルス抗体検査 Ross River virus (RRV) antibody levels で、抗 RRV IgG antibody and IgM antibody がともに陽性であったため、急性感染症 acute RRV disease と診断された。
