背景および疫学状況 2014年11月20日，the MoH of DRC and WHO は同年 8月24日から続いていた，a total of 38 laboratories confirmed cases and 28 probable case including 49 deaths in Boende, [Tshuapa] province の患者を発生させたアウトブレイク the EVD outbreak の終息を宣言した。1976年に DRC でエボラが発見されて以来，7件目のアウトブレイク the 7th outbreak of EVD であった。
• 2014: 66 cases of EVD including 49 deaths diagnosed initially in [Tshuapa] province (Watsi Kengo, Lokolia, Boende, and Boende Muke).
• 2012: 36 cases including 13 deaths Orientale province - Isiro (Bundibugyo virus).
• 2008-2009: 32 cases including 15 deaths in Kasaï-Occidental (Zaire virus).
• 2007: 264 cases including 187 deaths in Kasaï-Occidental (Zaire virus).
• 1995: 315 cases and 250 deaths occurred in Kikwit and surrounding area.
• 1977: 1 case (Zaire virus).
• 1976: 318 cases including 280 deaths in Yambuku (Zaire virus).

コンゴ民主共和国はこの 3週間に 9 suspected cases の発生を報告した。WHO は12日，the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)においてエボラアウトブレイクが発生と発表し，WHO は 1例について確定診断した。the WHO が 4月に認可したワクチン an experimental Ebola vaccine のアウトブレイク対策としての使用が検討されている。支援団体の Medecins san Frontieres (MSF, or Doctors Without Borders) が，接種キャンペーン a potential vaccination campaign について議論を始めた ... 現在，12種類のワクチンが開発段階にある candidate Ebola vaccines in development 。発売承認を受けたワクチンはないが，4月27日に the WHO's advisory group on immunization は，エボラアウトブレイク発生時には，直ちに an experimental vaccine called rVSV-SEBOV を使用することを勧告していた。カナダ政府当局 the Public Health Agency of Canada が開発し，the drug companies New Link Genetics and Merck 社がライセンスを有する，rVSV-SEBOV について，昨年 12月発行の科学雑誌 the Lancet で有効性が示された showed promise 。11 841 people in Guinea in 2015, near the end of the Ebola outbreak を対象とした治験で，ワクチン接種から 10日以上が経過した the 5837 people の中で感染者は 0 だった。しかし，これ以外(接種後 10日未満の意 ?)の数千人の治験参加者のうち，23人が感染した。現在のアウトブレイクの原因である，the Zaire strain of Ebola をベースに開発された rVSV-SEBOV の使用は適切 may be warranted であるとの意見がある。公衆衛生当局が決断すれば，2016年に，GAVI, the Vaccine Alliance は，将来のアウトブレイク発生時に 30万ドースのワクチンを購入することで Merck 社と合意しており，供給は準備されている。しかしながら，DRC では歴史的に，最近の西アフリカのアウトブレイクほどの，深刻なアウトブレイクにまで進展したことはない。今回と同じ the Bas-Uele province で発生した，前回のアウトブレイク The last Ebola outbreak in the DRC は，3ヶ月で 49人が死亡した(にとどまった)。深刻度の違いThe gap in severity の一因として，インフラと地理的条件 the DRC's infrastructure and geography がある。ギニア，シエラレオネ，リベリアでは，ヒトおよびそれらに付随するウイルスの移動が頻繁であるのに対し，DRC では劣悪な道路事情がそれらの移動を阻んでいる。すなわち，アウトブレイクが発生した場所では死者が出るが，遠く離れた場所に移動することなくアウトブレイクは消失するのである。また，The DRC には，長年の経験豊かな専門家らが多く蓄積されていることも利点である。the director of the National Institute on Biomedical Research in Kinshasa は，the DRC's 1st outbreak in 1976 や，その後のいくつもの事例に対応したことでよく知られている人物である ...

背景および疫学状況 2014年11月20日，the MoH of DRC and WHO は同年 8月24日から続いていた，a total of 38 laboratories confirmed cases and 28 probable case including 49 deaths in Boende, [Tshuapa] province の患者を発生させたアウトブレイク the EVD outbreak の終息を宣言した。1976年に DRC でエボラが発見されて以来，7件目のアウトブレイク the 7th outbreak of EVD であった。
• 2014: 66 cases of EVD including 49 deaths diagnosed initially in [Tshuapa] province (Watsi Kengo, Lokolia, Boende, and Boende Muke).
• 2012: 36 cases including 13 deaths Orientale province - Isiro (Bundibugyo virus).
• 2008-2009: 32 cases including 15 deaths in Kasaï-Occidental (Zaire virus).
• 2007: 264 cases including 187 deaths in Kasaï-Occidental (Zaire virus).
• 1995: 315 cases and 250 deaths occurred in Kikwit and surrounding area.
