症例 1: [Wed 13 Dec 2017]，5日前に Rupandehi district から戻ったカトマンズ Kathmandu 在住の 35歳男性が，右腋窩のダニ刺咬を訴え，外来 the outpatient department of Sukraraj Tropical and Infectious Disease Hospital (STIDH)を受診した。3日前に自身でダニ(写真を提示)を除去していたが，刺咬部位に発赤と激しい痛みがあった。しかし，受診時に発熱，関節痛，血痂 eschar など，他の症状は認められなかった。
症例 2: [Mon 18 Dec 2017]，Mugu district を旅行中に左大腿にダニ刺咬を受けた，a 42-year old female が外来を受診した。刺咬の 4日後に気づき除去していた。ところが刺咬から 15日後に，刺咬部位に痛みとかゆみが生じ，徐々に痛みと腫脹が強くなり，下肢に拡がった。発熱，悪寒，発疹はなかったと述べている。
症例 1のダニの写真は a hard-bodied and blacklegged (8-legged tick)で，20170417.4976181のダニに類似していた。
