Affected population: Three owners of backyard farms from the village of Besghioz notified the territorial subdivision competent authority for food safety about deaths of pigs. Pigs had typical signs of African swine fever. Samples were taken on 8 May 2018 from dead pigs and blood samples from the pigs alive. Results were received from the Republican Center for Veterinary Diagnosis on 10 May 2018; the samples were found positive using real-time PCR. All the dead and alive pigs were destroyed.
