オーストラリア国内では初めてとなる，広範囲薬剤耐性腸チフス菌の感染例 the 1st case of extensively drug-resistant typhoid in Australia が報告された。A 20-month-old Australian-born girl は，3か月のパキスタン旅行からの帰国後に，この高度耐性菌である the superbug による感染症を発症した初めての症例となった。the Children's Hospital at Westmead 小児病院と the University of Sydney の医師らが，16日の the Medical Journal of Australia letter で報告した。この女児が腸チフスの症状を発症し the Sydney hospital を受診したのは，(パキスタンへの旅行から) オーストラリアに帰国した 14か月後のことだった。女児は生来健康で，定期接種は受けていたが，渡航前の推奨ワクチンは接種していなかった。帰国する 6週間前にパキスタンで下痢を発症し，現地で処方された経口抗生物質の服用後も症状は継続していた。10日間の高熱，易刺激性，嘔吐，経口摂取減少のため入院が必要となった，と説明されている。血液培養の結果，typical of the XDR clade の特徴を示す菌が検出され，intravenous meropenem and oral azithromycin のによる治療が行われた。治療に反応し，8日後に退院した。the Sydney hospital between January and March this year [2019] が治療を行った，12例の渡航関連の発熱性消化管疾患例 travel-associated enteric fever cases のうちの １例であるが，その症例数は 2003年から 2015年にかけて増加している。

organic dairy products が関係するフランス国内のリステリア症 a _Listeria_ outbreak は，18か月以上継続し 7人が発病している。National Reference Center for Listeria により，the same strain of _Listeria_ によるものと確認されており，8人目の患者についても現在調査が行われている。保健当局 Sante Publique France [Public Health France] は 2人が死亡したことを認めているが，リステリア感染症との因果関係を示す証拠は得ていない。患者が発生しているのは，2018年2月から 2019年9月までの期間で，年齢は 36歳から 93歳まで，居住地は，Four live in Alsace, while Burgundy, Ile-de-France, and Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur all have one case となっている。Bas-Rhin, Alsace の Ferme Durr 社が製造する Raw milk cheeses が感染の原因と見られている。
