ブラストミセス症 Blastomycosis は，_Blastomyces dermatitidis_ or _Blastomyces gilchristii_ 真菌の芽胞の吸入による感染症で，ミネソタ州 Minnesota from 1999-2018 では，671 laboratory-confirmed cases of human blastomycosis が報告されている。毎年平均 34例が州内で報告されているが，近年報告数が増加しており，2018年は 58 cases と，1年間では過去最多の報告となった。
約 1/3の患者が居住地以外の郡で真菌に暴露し診断されており，along the Mississippi もしくは St. Croix rivers 流域の northern counties の患者が多いものの，州内の至る所で暴露する危険性がある。約 10% of cases が blastomycosis により死亡する。_Blastomyces dermatitidis_ は世界中で確認されているが，南北アメリカ parts of North, Central, and South America にもっとも多く，米国内では the Southeast and the Midwest に常在する。

オハイオ州農業当局 The Ohio Department of Agriculture が，Kroger stores in Ohio 各店で購入されたマグロ yellowfin tuna に関する注意喚起を発表した。Franklin and Montgomery counties において，4人のサバ科魚類食中毒 cases of scombroid poisoning が報告されたことへの対応だった。問題の商品が購入されたのは以下の 3 stores: 1365 Stoneridge Drive, Gahanna; 10101 Landing Way, Miamisburg; and 5400 Cornerstone N Boulevard, Centerville. "Tuna Yellowfin Steak Fresh Wild Caught," with sell-by dates of [3 Sep 2019] and [5 Sep 2019] のラベルが付けられて，新鮮なまま販売された sold fresh 。sesame ginger seasoning で味付けしたものと，していないものがある。
