In a follow-up on the diphtheria outbreak in Nigeria（ナイジェリア国内のジフテリアアウトブレイク）, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC) 保健当局は合計 a total of 377 suspected cases from 7 states across the country を報告した。そのほとんどである 355例 (96.8%) は，Kano in February 2023 からの報告であった。102例 (27.1%) cases について確定診断 (9 lab-confirmed, 93 clinically compatible) されており，確定例のうち 6例の死亡が記録された [CFR 5.8%].
