2月25日の the 1st Disease Outbreak News 以降，赤道ギニアで新たに8例のマールブルグ病感染例 additional laboratory-confirmed cases of Marburg virus disease (MVD) in Equatorial Guinea が報告され，合計9 laboratory-confirmed cases and 20 probable cases となった。感染確定例のうち7例が死亡し，all probable cases はすべて死亡例である。
Of the 8 new confirmed cases, 2 were reported from the province of Kié-Ntem, 4 from the Litoral, and 2 from Centre-Sur provinces.

Description of the situation
2月7日，赤道ギニア保健当局 the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare of Equatorial Guinea が8 suspected MVD deaths that occurred between 7 Jan-7 Feb 2023, in 2 villages located in the district of Nsok Nsomo, in the eastern province of Kié-Ntem, Río Muni Region を報告した。
2月12日に接触者 [患者?] contacts から採血された8件の血液検体が the Institute Pasteur in Dakar, Senegal に送付され，うち1件でマールブルグウイルス Marburg virus by real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) が確認された。この患者は発熱，嘔吐，血性下痢，けいれんの症状を発症し，2月10日に死亡した。one of the villages in Nsok-Nsomo district で死亡した4例 deceased suspected cases と疫学的関連性が認められている。
3月13日に Kié-Ntem province の2人からの検体の MVD by RT-PCR at a mobile laboratory at the Regional Hospital of Ebibeyin 検査が陽性となった。a confirmed case in Kié-Ntem と関連が認められた西部の住民 a resident of Litoral province の検体が15日同じ検査機関での検査で陽性となった。The 2 provinces (Kié-Ntem and Litoral) are located in different parts of the country, about 150 kilometers [about 93 mi] apart.
18 and 20 Mar 2023, 3 additional laboratory confirmed positive cases were reported from Litoral province.
20 Mar 2023, 2 more laboratory confirmed cases were reported from Centre Sur province.
Centre Sur province において疫学的関連性が確認できない症例が地理的に広範囲に分布していることから，コミュニティ内の検知されていないウイルス感染拡大が存在する可能性が示唆される。
