1877年以降の報告の大部分が細菌感染症 (59%), 次いでウイルス感染症 (38%) と真菌感染症 (4%) の順であったが、2000年以降、細菌または真菌による感染報告が80%増加し、ウイルス感染症は22%増加した。2000年以前は梅毒トレポネーマ _T. pallidum_ が最も多く47.9%を占めていた。

2000年以降、非結核性抗酸菌 nontuberculous mycobacteria が最も多く 51.8% of cases となっており、黄色ブドウ球菌 _S. aureus_ and 結核菌 _M. tuberculosis_ [? more likely what is meant here are non-tuberculous mycobacteria (NTM)] made up 40% of cases であった。

The tattooing process itself 施術それ自体が感染源として最も多く72% of cases の原因であり、次いで病原性微生物によるインクの汚染、施術後の管理によるものが続いている。

感染や問題が起きた場合に多くの人々は their tattoo artist のもとに戻り、そのまま回復すると医療機関を受診することはない。

all throughout Kerala 州全域から狂犬病感染 Rabies cases の報告があり、野犬が問題となっている。野犬に餌を与えていた49歳の愛犬家が感染した the most recent victim。医療施設できょうだいを看病していた6月9日に狂犬病の症状を発症した。医師の聞き取りに対してこの女性は、餌を与えていたイヌのうちの1頭に引っかかれたことを認めた。すぐに治療が開始されたが、11日に死亡し、16日に死因が明らかになった。

コロラド州保健当局 Colorado state health officials がサイクロスポーラ症アウトブレイク an outbreak of _Cyclospora_ on the Western Slope の調査を行っていると明らかにした。5月1日から6月15日現在までに、62例 cases in Colorado が報告されているが、入院や死亡例は報告されていない。between 2017 and 2022 の州内の年平均感染者数は63例である。約45人が同じレストラン、Tacos del GNAR, in Ridgway で5月1日以降に食事していた。

典型的には、サイクロスポーラ _Cyclospora_ outbreaks は、食品の取り扱い時より、製造段階での汚染 contaminated product -- usually produce -- in the supply chain で起きることが多い。
