mpox について the World Health Organization が no longer a Public Health Emergency of International Concern と宣言してからちょうど1ヶ月が経過したが、世界中で感染拡大が続いている。11カ国で8万8千人近くが感染し、2023年2月には people with advanced HIV において高い致死率を伴う壊死型感染 a necrotising form of mpox があることが確認されている。ワクチンへのアクセスが乏しいまたは入手できないアフリカ、アジア、ラテンアメリカにおける同疾患の拡大が懸念されている。
北京等でクラスターが発生している中国が入国者への監視等を強化している。
