ジンバブエ保健当局が全国的なコレラ感染拡大を報告しており、29 May 2023 - 25 Jun 2023 に新たに1379例の感染が報告され、2月12日以来の累計が3027例に達した。2022年は135例の報告だった。全国すべての地域 All of the country's 10 provinces から報告されており、最も報告数が多いのは Manicaland, Harare, Mashonaland West, and Mashonaland Central provinces である。これらは7月12日までに得られた最も正確なデータ the most complete data available as of 12 Jul 2023 である。
今回のアウトブレイクが開始したのは、the town of Chegutu, Mashonaland West Province で1例が報告された2023年2月12日で、不衛生な環境、上水道の汚染、国境をまたぐ移動などがアウトブレイクにつながったと当局は見ている。
135 cases of cholera in 2022 and over 10 000 cases in 2018-2019 が政府保健当局から報告されている。

Overview
the WHO African Region 地域内の14カ国でコレラ感染 The cholera outbreak が発生している。南部地域のサイクロンや洪水、アフリカの角の干ばつが感染増加につながっている。西部地域では、雨期の開始による感染増加のリスクがある。
2022年1月1日以降、累計21万1643例 cholera cases が the WHO Regional Office for Africa (AFRO) に報告され、この中には3953例の死亡 deaths が含まれ、致死率 a case fatality ratio (CFR) of 1.9% as of 2 Jul 2023 となっている。
マラウイ Malawi accounts for 28% (59 011) of the total cases and 45% (1766) of all deaths reported, and together with カメルーン Cameroon, コンゴ（民）Democratic Republic of the Congo, モザンビーク Mozambique, and ナイジェリア Nigeria contribute to 86% (181 114) of the overall caseload and 88% (3472) of cumulative deaths となっている。

All deaths occurred within 48 hours of the rapid onset of a severe, unspecified illness.
There are now confirmed deaths at one property on the Mornington Peninsula, 2 properties near Cranbourne in south-east Melbourne, a property near Ballarat and a property near Colac.

The Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (FMARD) has confirmed one case of anthrax disease in a mixed livestock farm in Niger State. This is the 1st animal case to be reported in Nigeria since the beginning of the West Africa outbreak in Ghana in June 2023. ...
Following this report, samples were collected on 14 Jul 2023 from multiple species in this livestock farm and transported to the National Veterinary Research Institute (NVRI), VOM, Plateau State for testing and the results were positive for anthrax.
