大腸菌 _E. coli 感染による患者が増え、daycare centers in Calgary, Canada に関係のある合計264人のアウトブレイクによる感染が確認されている。37人が入院となり、25人が今も入院中である。このうち22人は溶血性尿毒症症候群 hemolytic uremic syndrome を発症したことを、州保健当局 Alberta Health Services が確認している。小児6人が血液透析中である。
11か所の daycare centers が、アウトブレイクを理由に一時閉鎖されている。患者が発生したのはこのうちの6つの施設である。これらの施設は1か所のセントラルキッチン（給食施設）a central kitchen, KidsU Centennial - Fueling Minds Inc を利用していた。4日から同キッチンの調査が開始され、翌5日に営業停止となった。Alberta Health Services が残った食品 leftover foods and frozen foods を回収し検査を行っているが、いまのところ大腸菌 the _E. coli_ O157:H7 感染源としての食品の特定には至っていない。
ただし、キッチンの調査で、ゴキブリ、施設の不備、ほか規則違反 other violations が報告されている。

フランス南東部でボツリヌス食中毒 foodborne botulism により入院となった主に米国とカナダからの旅行者のうち、1人が死亡した。ワインバー a wine bar in Bordeaux が関係したとみられるボツリヌス中毒により、現在10人が入院している。女性1名が死亡し、7名が集中治療室など in either intensive care or a high-dependency unit at Bordeaux hospital で管理されている。死亡した女性はパリ the Paris region 在住の32歳で、パートナーとともにボルドー Bordeaux を旅行し、ともにパリに戻った後に発症した。パートナーは今もパリの病院の集中治療室にいる。患者のほぼすべてが米国、カナダあるいはドイツ人で、全員が前の週にこのワインバー the Thcin Tchin wine bar in Bordeaux を訪れていた。現地保健当局は、自家製サーディン a home-made sardine dish served at the bar による可能性が高いとしている。

In 2021 and 2022, leaf samples were collected from plants of different Poaceae species showing chlorotic leaf streak symptoms in central Iran. Molecular tests revealed the presence of _High Plains wheat mosaic virus_ (HPWMoV) in single or mixed infections with _Wheat streak mosaic virus_ in wheat (_Triticum aestivum_), barley (_Hordeum vulgare_), maize (_Zea mays_), oat (_Avena sativa_), millet (_Panicum miliaceum_) and Johnsongrass (_Sorghum halepense_). This is the 1st time that HPWMoV is reported from Iran and from Asia.
