西表島でカヌーをした男性4人が「レプトスピラ症」に感染 沖縄
沖縄県の西表島でカヌーをした男性4人に発熱や頭痛などの症状が出て、死に至るリスクもある「レプトスピラ症」に感染していたことがわかりました。県は、川や滝に入るときは肌の露出を減らし、川の水を飲まないよう呼びかけています。「レプトスピラ症」はネズミやマングースなどが持つ細菌で、汚染された土や水に触れることで感染し、3日から2週間程度の潜伏期間を経たあと、高熱や頭痛、筋肉痛などの症状が出るほか、重症化すると腎機能障害などで死に至るリスクもあります。このレプトスピラ症に8月、西表島の川でカヌーをした10代の男性5人のうち4人が感染していたことがわかり、県は集団発生が確認されたと発表しました。いずれも発熱や頭痛、腎不全などの症状があり、川の水を飲んだと話しているということです。
県内では、レプトスピラ症で去年70代の男性が発熱や腎不全などの症状が出て死亡したほか、おととしは感染者が11人確認されています。県は、川や滝に入るときは肌の露出を減らして体に傷があるときは入らないことや、川や滝の水は飲まないことなどを呼びかけています。また、初期の症状がかぜに似ていることから、数日の間に川などに行った経験があれば、受診する際に医師に話して早期の治療につなげてほしいとしています。
