2ヶ月以上にわたり、中国国内で肺炎マイコプラズマ _Mycoplasma pneumoniae_ が猛威を振るっている。台湾保健当局 the Taiwan Centers for Disease Control and Prevention は、中国本土、香港、マカオからの旅行者らに対して、11月26日以降、4カ所の国際空港 international airports で検査を受けるよう求めている。初めての感染例が、空港でのスクリーニング開始から約2週間後の12月8日確認された。
the CDC によると、この10歳児は4日に台湾に到着した際に発熱があり、5日にマイコプラズマ検査が陽性と確認された。

年初以降、a total of 4085 suspected cases, 944 confirmed cases, and 102 probable deaths (case-fatality ratio of 2.5%) have been reported in 5 ECOWAS member states (table 1)
the cholera platform as of week 43 in 2023, the West and Central Africa region reported 53 013 cases of cholera and 623 fatalities, resulting in a case-fatality rate of 1.2% (West Africa represent 9.2% of global cases and 23% of global deaths).
In comparison to the same period in 2022, there was an 8% rise in cases and a 42% decrease in deaths, with 48 957 cases and 1073 deaths recorded, yielding a case-fatality rate of 2.2% (West Africa represented 48.8% of global cases and 51.8 % of global deaths).

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) says 3.1 million people in Sudan are at risk of cholera in 8 states between July and December 2023.
