保健当局は7日の最新報告で、国内の15例のウマ脳炎が疑われる患者 suspected cases of equine encephalitis の発生を報告した。
Montevideo and the neighboring department of San Jose において2例が確定診断されており、the follow-up of 15 cases under suspicion in the departments of Canelones, Montevideo, Paysandu, Rio Negro, Rocha, San Jose and Soriano と記載されている。
The Public Health Ministry は suspicious cases として、突然の発熱に、上気道症状を伴わない頭痛または筋肉痛、および神経症状のあるものとしている。Other suspicious cases are those with [vomiting], drowsiness, confusion, prostration, tremors, meningitis or encephalitis.

_Candidatus_ Phytoplasma palmicola, one of the phytoplasmas causing lethal palm yellowing diseases (EPPO A1 List), is reported for the first time from Equatorial Guinea. During the past 2 decades, a high mortality of coconut palms (_Cocos nucifera_) has been observed in the coastal areas of Equatorial Guinea, dramatically decreasing coconut production. A survey was carried out in 2021 to identify the cause of the mortality.
