Chikkamagaluru [district in Karnataka state] の43歳の農業従事者 agricultural labourer がキャサヌール森林病 KFD [Kyasanur Forest disease, regionally known as monkey fever,] により28日に死亡した。
"この女性は KFD infection のため21日に Megan Hospital at Shivamogga [district in Karnataka state] に入院となった"
この10日間で3人目の犠牲者で、これ以前に Siddapur town, Uttara Kannada district で2人が死亡している。
2023年に比べ、州内の The KFD の状況は悪化しており、主に12歳未満の小児を中心に、500人近い感染者が確認されている...

国内ではじめてのヒトのラセンウジバエ（の幼虫）の感染例 the first case of screwworm を政府当局 the Ministry of Health and the National Animal Health Service (SENASA) が26日に確認した。南部のパナマ国境の町 the town of Altamira de Pavones, province of Puntarenas 在住のこの男性は、the hospital in Golfito, Puntarenas に入院していた。
Screwworm is a disease caused by the larvae of the _Cochliomyia hominivorax_ (Coquerel) fly。
ヒトを含む温血動物の開放創に卵を産む。数時間後に孵化し、生体組織を食べる。幼虫（蛆）は皮下で成長し、皮膚蝿蛆症 cutaneous myiasis と呼ばれる皮膚病変の原因となる。症状として、皮膚の有痛性腫瘤が発現し、滲出物を分泌する場合がある。ウジが成長するにつれて皮下に透見できるようになり、蠕動が感じられる場合もある。通常、外科的にウジを除去し、その後、局所の感染予防が行われる。
