The city of Luanda において，この数日間に出血性結膜炎の流行 an epidemic of contagious hemorrhagic conjunctivitis が発生していると，眼科研究所長 the director of the National Ophthalmological Institute of Angola (IONA) が29日述べた。様々な結膜炎 different types of conjunctivitis のうち，もっとも多いのは出血性 the most frequent being hemorrhagic で毎日8-10例が治療を受けていると述べた。

Hemorrhagic conjunctivitis はきわめて感染力が強く，結膜下出血 subconjunctival hemorrhage, 眼瞼腫脹 sudden swelling of the eyelids, and 充血 congestion, 発赤と痛み redness and pain in the eye の症状がみられる。

ペスト Plague は，国内東部 the province of Ituri, located in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) に常在する。これまでの亜流行の多くは，迅速で的確な診断の遅れによるものと考えられていたが，依然として疾患及び曝露する人々への関心は低く，資金が不足していた。しかし，2021年以降，the Rethy health zone, located in the heart of Djugu territory, and less frequently in the neighboring Logo health zone において，毎月，確定診断例 confirmed cases (RDT and specific PCR) of bubonic plague の報告が続いている。

Between 2021 and 2024, the Rethy health zone alone reported 881 cases (2021 N = 22 cases; 2022 N = 639 cases; 2023 N = 111 cases; 2024 N = 128 cases), with 42 deaths (CFR 5%).

2024年1月1日以降，the Rethy health zone だけで128 cases and 6 deaths (CFR 5%) が報告されており，患者の90%が between 5 and 29 Feb 2024, by 2 health zones (Kpandroma and Lokpa) に報告された。5歳から14歳の年齢層が最も多かった（67例）。the city of Kpandroma では数校の学校が3日間休校となった。

the Center for Research in Tropical Diseases (CRMT) のチームが現地校を訪れたところ，5校で腺ペスト感染例 cases of bubonic plague (Kpandroma, Shun, Apolo, Gola and Baidjo), with no deaths の報告が確認された。the principal of Kpandroma elementary school の報告によると，the first case was reported on 8 Feb 2024 のあと，ほかのクラスからも報告があり，家族や村との関連は確認されなかった。教室内でノミが発見された。生徒の一部は，2月11日に流行が報告されていた the village of Ngombu から来ていた。

注意喚起 the alert given by the Relais Communautaires (RECO) to the Health Zone Central Office が行われたにもかかわらず，ロジ等の問題で，各戸の噴霧消毒 household deltamethrin spraying が遅れた。Malteser International sent deltamethrin for flea control to these classrooms and subsequently to infested households...

2月4日以降，治安の悪化の影響がより少ない the Logo health zone から29例 cases including 1 death (CFR 3.4%) from 9 different villages が報告されている。
