過去7年間に合計78人 Sarawakians havが狂犬病 rabies を発症し、およそ半数は飼育していたイヌから感染した。38例が their pet dogs から、20例が野犬から、5例がペットのネコによる咬傷やひっかき傷から感染したと説明されている。
最も多く死亡が報告されたのは2023年の20例だった。
2024年について、週あたり約300－400件の動物咬傷が確認されており、ほとんどがノラ猫や飼い猫によるものである。
曝露後接種 the Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) treatment for rabies の有効率が only 99.9% effective にとどまっている（compared to 100% previously）。
"Sarawak のイヌの頭数は推定約25万0000頭で、狂犬病対策に住民すべての協力が必要" と強調した。
2023年、3万7千頭に狂犬病ワクチンの接種を行ったが、2回目の接種を受けたイヌとネコはわずか7000頭であったと述べた。.

As of 25 Feb 2024, 3万4704例のジフテリア suspected cases of diphtheria が across ナイジェリア Nigeria, ギニア Guinea, ニジェール Niger, モーリタニア Mauritania, 南アフリカ South Africa, カメルーン Cameroon, and ガボン Gabon から報告されている。
ナイジェリア Nigeria was the most severely affected, accounting for 78% of cases and 70% of deaths.
モーリタニア Mauritania has not reported cases since epi week 44, 2023, and the outbreak in Pollsmoor Prison, Western Cape Province, South Africa, has been successfully contained. Therefore, the diphtheria outbreak is no longer active in Mauritania and South Africa.
ガボン Gabon reported 1 laboratory confirmed case in the Bitam district, on the border with Cameroon.
ギニア Recent epidemiological trends show a surge in weekly cases in Guinea and geographical expansion, contrasting with a decline observed in the remaining affected countries. Guinea is the priority country for the next week, while close monitoring is required in Cameroon and Gabon. A cross-border coordination and surveillance meeting was held last week between Guinea and Mali.
