生徒らの間でリンゴ病 cases of B19 infection, or "slapped cheek" syndrome [or fifth disease - Mod.LL] が確認され、Beqaa では複数の学校が休校となっている。

小児では発熱、胃痛、頭痛、鼻水、顔面の紅斑など様々な症状がみられる、一方、成人でもっとも多く見られる症状は関節痛である。

B19 symptoms 症状はウイルスに曝露した6日後にはじまり、およそ1週間続く。

[Mod.NS－ Most parvoviruses は動物には感染するが、ヒトに感染することはない。しかし、parvovirus B19 は唯一ヒトに感染する。parvovirus B19 infection に感染したヒトには、年齢や健康状態によって様々な症状が現れる。

A common presentation is fifth disease (or erythema infectiosum), which is typically recognized by the hallmark "slapped cheek" rash and is most common in young children.]

[Mod.LL－第5病 Fifth disease は、5th in a list of historical classifications of common skin rash illnesses in children であったことから命名された。

For history, there were 6 diseases classified in this way:

"First disease: 麻疹 Rubeola or measles (rubeola virus)

Second disease: 猩紅熱 Scarlet fever or scarlatina (_Streptococcus pyogenes_)

Third disease: 風疹 Rubella or German measles (rubella virus)

Fourth disease: Filatow-Dukes' disease (or possibly staphylococcal scalded skin syndrome)

Fifth disease: 伝染性紅斑 Erythema infectiosum (parvovirus B19)

Sixth disease: 突発性発疹 Exanthem subitum, or roseola infantum (human herpes virus 6B or 7" (1)

概して良性であるが、B19 acute infection 急性感染症において、一過性の赤血球低形成 a transient erythrocyte (red blood cell, RBC) hypoplasia by affecting the cell's progenitors を生じる。多くの場合、赤血球の半減期が120日間あるため、この一過性低形成の症状は現れない unnoticed。

しかし鎌状赤血球症 sickle cell disease などの溶血性貧血の患者では顕在化し overtly noticeable, "aplastic crisis （無形成クライシス）" を生じる。

免疫不全の患者の一部において、赤血球低形成 the RBC hypoplasia が遷延化することがあり、妊娠女性 susceptible pregnant woman では、胎内感染による胎児死亡がおきることもある。

Abstract

"Parvovirus B19 (B19V) は多くの妊娠女性が感染し、その1-5%が発症 (? affect）するが、ほとんどの場合妊娠予後は正常である with normal pregnancy outcome。母体感染があった場合の33-51%に垂直感染が発生する。

B19V infection は、胎児疾病と死亡の重要な原因 an important cause of fetal morbidity (fetal anaemia 胎児貧血 and non-immune hydrops 非免疫性水腫) and mortality であり、主に the second trimester に発生する。Diagnosis of B19V infection 感染の診断には a multi-method approach using mainly serology and PCR techniques が必要となる。

重症胎児貧血には胎内輸血が用いられ、これにより67%から85%の周産期生存率が得られる。胎児貧血が軽度であり、胎児水腫の自然書室が見込まれる場合は、侵襲的な治療は推奨されておらず、B19V complicated pregnancy 合併妊娠は、連続的な超音波検査と MCV-PSV measurementsにより非侵襲的にモニターする。代替となる子宮内免疫グロブリン intrauterine IVIG therapy による胎児水腫治療の成功例も報告されている。

"B19V infection に対する特異的な抗ウイルス治療薬あるいはワクチンは存在しないが、ウイルス複製の抑制物質 compounds inhibiting B19V replicationの探求が続けられている。 New virus-like-particle-based parvovirus B19 vaccine candidates, produced by co-expressing VP2 and either wild-type VP1 or phospholipase-negative VP1 in a regulated ratio from a single plasmid in _Saccharomyces cerevisiae_, have been developed and show sufficient promise to test in humans."]

パナマ国内でこれまでに8例のヒトのウシラセンウジ虫感染 [myiasis caused by] the cattle screwworm in humans が確認されていると、疫学当局責任者 The head of the epidemiology department of the General Directorate of Public Health of the Ministry of Health (MINSA) が報告した。

患者の年齢は1歳から94歳で、女性が多く、発生地域は the health regions of Veraguas (2), Darién (2), Chiriquí (1), Panamá Oeste (1), Panamá Metro (1), Ngäbe-Buglé region (1) と説明されている。2例が入院した。

Al-Diwaniyah [Al-Qadisiyah] Governorate で麻疹 measles 感染が拡がる中、7 deaths and 1930 cases of measles among children in health institutions が公式に確認されている。

保健当局責任者 The head of the Health Committee in the Diwaniyah Governorate Council によると

"The numbers are constantly rising among children, and the situation is under control, but it needs support from the central government and the concerned authorities."

"The infections are distributed in the city center, districts, and sub-districts," she added, indicating that "health authorities are mobilized to work regarding this rise in measles."

3月11日、2024年に日本国内で報告された麻疹感染例が11例となり、COVID-19パンデミック中の2020年から2022年の間の患者数をすでに超えている。

CDC dispatches team to Chicago as measles cases prompt concerns

シカゴ公衆衛生当局 The Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH) により12日、保護施設内で新たに3例の麻疹 more confirmed measles cases at the Pilsen migrant shelter が確認された。

8 confirmed measles cases が確認されており、さらに増えるおそれがあるとして、the CDC 本部がシカゴに調査チーム a team from its headquarters in Atlanta to Chicago を派遣した。
