The food products were sold at grocery stores in southern California including Woodland Hills Market in Woodland Hills, Q Market in Van Nuys, and Wholesome Choice Market in Irvine.

Other possible exposure sites include Sydney Domestic Airport Terminal 2 Arrivals between 8:53am and 9:30am and the Domestic Airport Station from 9am to 9:30am. Commuters on the T8 line 9:09am train from Domestic Airport Station to Central Station, the T4 line 9:23am train from Central arriving at Martin Place at 09:30am and at Martin Place Station from 9:30am to 10am are being asked to watch for signs of measles.
Anyone who visited Toby's Estate in Martin Place between 10am and 11:50am, the Gateway Building in Circular Quay between 11:45am and 4:30pm including the food court from 1:30pm to 2:15pm, the ground floor atrium of Deutsche Bank Place from 4pm to 5pm and Mordeo Bistro & Bar from 4:30 to 5:30pm are being urged to be alert for symptoms.

The researchers found the virus in 2 dead skuas that Argentinan scientists collected near Argentina's Antarctic research base, Primavera, which is on the northern tip of Antarctica's mainland. Skuas are large seabirds that breed in sub-Antarctic and Antarctic zones and move farther north when not breeding.

The nematode was detected in January 2024 in a ware potato farm in central Lithuania. The soil sample was collected as a part of an official survey.
