下痢症、嘔吐などの症状のため病院に入院となったのは、a baby shower in Satha village under the jurisdiction of Bhandaripokhari police station in Bhadrak district での食事後だった。dahibara [fritters dunked in yogurt] at the baby shower を摂取したと述べられている。
The dahibara had probably fermented due to heat（暑さで発酵した）, which might have led to food poisoning.

もう1例は中央部の6歳女児で、慢性神経疾患があった。発熱、咳嗽、息切れの症状のため、2月後半に医療機関を受診したが、帰宅後に状態が悪化し、肺炎を合併して突然心停止があり、死亡した。病院側は帰宅させる際に COVID-19 感染に気づいていなかった。
