州政府保健当局アドバイザー The Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Health が20日，1週間にコレラ感染例が350例から401例に，死亡例が15例から20例に増加した an increase in suspected cholera cases from 350 to 401 and 15 to 21 fatalities in one week と明らかにした。Lagos Island, Kosofe, and Eti Osa で最も多く患者 the highest number of cases が確認されていると述べた。人々が集う犠牲祭 the Eid-el-Kabir celebration のあとの増加は予想されていたと述べている。当局による介入と調査の結果，これまでの発生地域 previously affected LGA を中心に患者数は減少しつつあると述べた。

CHP investigates probable case of botulism
珠海 Zhuhai の，ボツリヌストキシン注射後のボツリヌス中毒が疑われる症例 a probable case of botulism after receiving injections of botulinum toxin について，保健当局 The Centre for Health Protection (CHP) of the Department of Health (DH) が14日調査を行っている。
患者は生来健康であった57歳女性で，5月18日からの発語遅延と嚥下困難，同19日からの眼瞼下垂の症状を訴え，the Accident and Emergency Department of Queen Mary Hospital 救急室を受診し，同22日に治療のため入院したが同日医師の指示を拒否し退院となった。同23日，発語遅延と嚥下困難の症状が悪化したため Queen Mary Hospital に入院となり，2日間の治療後退院となった。6月2日，呼吸困難，窒息感 choking，四肢筋力低下により救急室 the Accident and Emergency Department of Tseung Kwan O Hospital を受診し入院となり，同5日に集中治療室に転棟となり，現在危険な状態となっている。
臨床診断として，医原性ボツリヌス中毒 suspected iatrogenic botulism が疑われている。
初期の調査で，この患者は4月27日と5月15日にに美容サロン a beauty parlor in Zhuhai でボツリヌストキシンの注射を受けていた。

Number hospitalized by _E coli_ reaches 86 as UK lettuce outbreak grows
レタスが関係する大腸菌感染症アウトブレイク an _E. coli_ outbreak linked to lettuce により，少なくとも86人が入院していると当局が明らかにした。6月18日以降，新たに45人の感染 A further 45 cases of _E. coli_ infection が確認され，確定診断された症例数は全国で256人となった。保健当局 the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) は，患者らは5月31日以前から発症していたと述べている。
The UKHSA said: "発生のスピードは落ちてきているが，検査 NHS laboratories refer specimens to UKHSA for genomic sequencin の結果により，さらにアウトブレイク菌と関連付けられた症例数が増えるだろう" 。

食品基準局 The Food Standards Agency (FSA) が，アウトブレイクの感染源はレタスとみられるとしている。
確認された患者らの感染は Shiga toxin-producing _E. coli_ O145 による。

Human infection with avian influenza A(H5N6) virus
Between 7 Jun 2024 and 13 Jun 2024 の間に，新たな鳥インフルエンザウイルス感染患者 1 new case of human infection with avian influenza A(H5N6) virus が WHO in the Western Pacific Region に報告された。福建省 Fujian Province の41歳男性で，5月8日発症した。重症肺炎のため入院となり5月14日に感染が確定診断され confirmed positive for A(H5N6) ，その後死亡した。
To date, a total of 92 laboratory-confirmed cases of human infection with influenza A(H5N6) virus, including 37 deaths (CFR 40%), have been reported to WHO in the Western Pacific Region since 2014. The last case was reported from China, with a symptom onset date of 13 Apr 2024.

Abstract
"The recent rise in the frequency of influenza A(H5N6) infections in China has raised serious concerns about whether the risk for human infection has increased.
ヒトの A(H5N6) viruses 感染例の疫学，臨床，遺伝子のデータについて検討した。
感染例の93.8%が重症化し，致死率は55.4%であった。年齢の中央値は51歳だった。
2021年のヒトからの分離株の大部分 Most H5N6 hemagglutinin (HA) genes in human isolates in 2021 は subclade 2.3.4.4b に属しており，we estimated the time to most recent common ancestor as 16 Jun 2020 と推定される。
ヒトの分離株として，合計 13種類 genotypes with HA genes from multiple subclades in clade 2.3.4.4 が同定されており，このうち2021年に新たに同定された4種類 new genotypes が，感染増加の主な原因 the major causes of increased H5N6 virus infections と考えられる。
ほ乳類に馴化する変異 Mammalian-adapted mutations が HA and internal genes 遺伝子に認められた。
