Second newborn dies of enterovirus complications
重症エンテロウイルス感染症 severe enterovirus infections の合併症による2例目の新生児 a second newborn under 4 weeks old の死亡が発生したと、保健当局 The Taiwan Centers for Disease Control (CDC) が3月25日に明らかにした。死亡した男児は未熟児 a premature baby で、出生後の呼吸障害 respiratory distress syndrome のため入院中だった。3月に敗血症による血中酸素濃度の低下、肝炎、血小板減少がみられ、17日に死亡した。エンテロウイルス検査陽性で、発症から約1週間で死亡した。
2025年はじめにエンテロウイルス感染症で死亡した1例目の新生児と同じ、エコーウイルス the enteric cytopathic human orphan virus 11 (Echo 11) が確認されている。
感染症状のある接触者は確認されておらず、感染源は特定されていない。
2025年の台湾で確認された3例の重症感染例 severe enterovirus cases はすべて the Echo 11 strain によるもので、うちいずれも新生児の2例が死亡した。

ホーチミン市 Ho Chi Minh City の25歳男性が、適切に保存されていなかったパテの缶詰 improperly stored canned pate の摂取によるボツリヌス食中毒 botulinum poisoning により入院したと、病院関係者 head of the Department of Neurology at the Military Hospital 175 が3月24日明らかにした。
四肢の完全麻痺 complete quadriplegia, 眼瞼下垂 drooping eyelids, 散瞳 dilated pupils、人工呼吸器装着の重症ボツリヌス食中毒症状となり入院し、ただちに診断がついた。治療により徐々に回復兆候にあるが、今も人工呼吸器の補助を必要としている。
March 2021, a 42-year-old woman died, and 2 others were left in critical condition in Ho Chi Minh City after consuming vegan food suspected to be contaminated with the toxin.

2024年まで6年間、新規の結核感染例 The number of new tuberculosis (TB) cases の減少が続いている。2024年に診断された活動性結核の1156例 active infections のうち、相変わらず男性と高齢者が大部分を占めているが、2023年の1201例から減少したと、3月25日に保健省 a Ministry of Health (MOH) statement が発表した。
3人が、より治療が困難で治療成功率がおよそ20％の薬剤耐性結核に感染し、2023年の2例から増加した。
2017年より11例の微増があった2018年を除き、2016年の1617例から着実に減少が続いている。
2024年の新規感染例のうち、50歳以上が77.9%、また男性が67.5%を占めていた。
結核が常在 endemic here しており、高齢者の感染率は最大30%とされる潜在性結核 latent TB infection はまれな疾患ではない not uncommon と保健省は述べている。潜在性結核とは、結核菌を有しているが感染力はなく、無症状である場合を指す。

Last year [2024], dengue claimed the lives of 575 people.

Abstract
Tembusu virus (TMUV) は新興フラビウイルス an emerging flavivirus の1つで、主に鳥類の疾患に関係する。
This study reports the first documented natural infection of TMUV in mammals, specifically zoo dolphins in Thailand（タイの動物園内のイルカ）。
2023年7月、3 bottlenose dolphins に神経症状 neurological symptoms がみられ死亡した。死後の検査で TMUV infection 感染が確認された。脳内と肺に高用量のウイルス Viral loads が確認され、ほか腎臓と脾臓にもみられたが、ウイルス抗原 the TMUV antigen が確認できたのは脳内のみだった。
TMUV was localized in neurons and astroglia cells, and immunohistochemistry revealed CD3-positive T lymphocyte perivascular cuffing in the brain.
イルカのウイルス the dolphin TMUV strains within cluster 3 の系統発生学的解析で、中国の蚊族で発見されたウイルスに関連していた。イルカの検体を後ろ向きに検討したところ、2019年にはウイルスが存在していたことが分かった。

[Mod.PMB－ Tembusu virus (TMUV) belongs to the Flaviviridae family, like West Nile virus and dengue virus. It is known to infect and cause disease in avian hosts (ie, ducks and chicken) in Southeast Asia. TMUV causes encephalitis and neurological disorders in avian populations, resulting in morbidity rates of up to 90%, associated with damage to the female reproductive system leading to severe loss of egg production in farms. Like other flaviviruses, TMUV is transmitted by mosquitoes and has been isolated from _Culex_ mosquitoes. The occurrence of TMUV in mammals is not well documented, and it is not known whether they are occasional dead-end hosts or they might amplify the virus. There is previous evidence of exposure to mosquito-borne viruses in dolphin populations (West Nile virus and Saint Louis encephalitis).]
