これまでに36例の志賀毒素産生性大腸菌 Shiga toxin-producing _E. coli_ [also called enterohemorrhagic _E. coli_, EHEC - Mod.LL] が報告されていると、保健相 Health Minister が答え、このうち34例が小児であり、さらに7例の小児に感染症状が認められていると述べた。潜伏期間が12－14日と長いため、何例の感染が発生するかの予想が困難であると述べた。共通の食品などの感染源は確認されていない。
当局 the Food and Veterinary Service (PVD), together with the Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (SPKC) により、19 preschools and 2 primary schools の教育機関が調査されている。
3月29日に19人の小児が大学小児病院 the Children's Clinical University Hospital で治療されていると報告されていた。
Last year [2024], this infection was registered 42 times in Latvia. On average, 4 to 5 cases are reported per month, according to the SPKC.

南北アメリカ地域各国 countries of the Americas Region における、2025年の黄熱感染例増加 the increase in human cases of yellow fever in 2025 を受け、汎米保健機関 the Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization (PAHO/WHO) は加盟国に対し、監視の強化とワクチン接種等を呼びかけている。また重症例の早期発見と適時の治療に重点を置いた臨床管理強化の重要性も強調している。
Summary of the Situation
Between epidemiological week (EW) 1 and EW 12 of 2025 の期間に、131例のヒトの黄熱感染例 confirmed cases of yellow fever in humans in 4 countries of the Region が報告され、うち53例が死亡している。感染を報告したのは、ボリビア the Plurinational State of Bolivia, with one fatal case; ブラジル Brazil with 81 cases, including 31 fatal cases; コロンビア Colombia with 31 cases, including 13 fatal cases; and ペルー Peru with 18 cases, including 8 fatal cases である。
2024年は主にアマゾン地域 throughout the Amazon region of Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Guyana, and Peru からの報告であったが、2025年は各国のアマゾン地域以外 the state of São Paulo in Brazil and the department of Tolima in Colombia, regions outside the Amazon region of both countries からも報告されている。

[Mod.TY－ Yellow fever (YF) transmission in Tolima department が継続しており、7 Feb 2025 の報告 report from the Departmental Health Secretariat によると、eastern Tolima, in municipalities such as Cunday, Villarrica, Dolores, Prado and Purificación において、29 cases of people が黄熱に感染し、うち14例が死亡している。
